Summer School on European and International Consumer Law

The Summer School is a short and concise specialised course on European and International Consumer Law, which takes place over the duration of one week. The course is conducted through English by international guest lecturers from leading European universities. Participants have the opportunity to theoretically and practically engage for approx. 6 hours each day to discuss European and International Consumer Law.
Course content will be European and International Consumer Law, e.g. General Consumer Protection Law – The EU Directive on Consumer Rights 2011/83/EU; Specific Contracts – Consumer Sales, Consumer Credit; Tourist Services – Package Travel, Timeshare and Transport of Passengers; Financial Services and Protection of Private Investors; Consumer Protection in International Relationships – Applicable law, Jurisdiction, Trans Border Enforcement
The all-inclusive course fee amounts to 480€ for undergraduate and postgraduate students. The fee includes courses, accommondation and food, a Regional Culture Programme and organised evening events following the courses, a Farewell-Evening and Saturday weekend excursion.
Upon regular attendance of the course, active participation and a short presentation on European Court of Justice desicions, participants will receive a certificate with ECTS credits. These credit points are widely recognised by many universities. Every student can achieve 5 ECTS through participation and presentation within the course. Following the course, participants can optionally complete a thesis, which will be credited with 10 ECTS.
