Research centre for consumer law
The objective of the research centre is the scientific exploration of consumer law in Germany and European as well as non-European countries. Another purpose is to enforce a scientific and practical exchange.
Consumer law includes a broad variety of topics: From food to services, consumer data protection, telecommunications or the internet, up to consumer (or durable) goods - consumer law affects a lot scientific fields, which are also (or perhaps for that reason) present at the University of Bayreuth. The focus of their research ought to be the handling of consumer data, the adequate information of consumers and special difficulties that come with services to a consumer.
Focus area “innovation and consumer protection” (iuv) of the university of Bayreuth
“Innovation and consumer protection” is a (research) focus area of the University of Bayreuth. The focus area is based on the link between research in the fields of innovation, consumer protection and consumer behaviour at the University of Bayreuth, which is one of a kind – worldwide / unique not only in Germany, but also in the international research environment. It is promoted by the strong research infrastructure at the University of Bayreuth, consisting of research centres, facilities and institutes, such as the research centre for medium-sized business (“Betriebswirtschaftliches Forschungszentrum für den Mittelstand”, BF/M) or the project group “business informatics” of the Fraunhofer FIT.
